Abstract light photography of a beach fire pit. Long exposure shots with manual camera zooming and random movement. The result is a dynamic abstract photo of light swirling and flames whorling. Shot in 2012, edited and published 2016. Select pieces are available as reproduction posters through TurningArt’s art subscription service.

Looking at these images feels meditative and therapeutic for me, like watching flames when gathered around the warmth of in a fire pit or fireplace. I wonder if a person with traumatic memories related to fire would feel other emotions. I see suggestive shapes like a galaxy in 394 and a dragon or bird in 455.
