Mary has lived in Taiwan, Alaska, San Francisco Bay Area, and now resides in Portland. She has been taking photos ever since she received a camera as a present as a child. It was a point-and-shoot film camera.
She grew up influenced by computers, online bulletin board systems, cyberpunk, anime, and science fiction. She has shot on cameras from point and shoots to film cameras, DSLRs, camera phones, and now likes to play with the GoPro.
Professionally, Mary has worked in software engineering and residential real estate, with a college degree in Computer Science and licensed as a California real estate broker.
Mary has many stories to share about her adventures over the years such as: volunteering in NYC for Hurricane Sandy relief, gorilla trekking in Rwanda, Serengeti safari, attending the Rainbow Gathering in Mexico, canyoneering in Utah, festivals like Burning Man, working on large scale art, Tough Mudder, and in general traveling all over the world.
Some of Mary’s favorite activities and interests include cooking, partner dancing, snowboarding, exploring new places, learning new things, and always, photography.
